May 27 - May 31
Dear Kindergarten Families,
We have music on Monday and Wednesdays. Please help your child to arrive on time so we are ready for music at 8:00. We learned a new song in music this week. We will keep practicing it and learning movement actions that go with our song next week.
Thank you to Ms. Nida for volunteering in our classroom this week.
Upcoming Field trip to the zoo on Monday June 10th has been cancelled as we did not have enough volunteers.
This week in math we introduced non-standard measurement. We used a variety of containers at the sand table to measure what holds more, less and are there any containers that hold the same equal amounts?
We worked on the number 10 this week and found various ways to add numbers together to make 10.
We did some butterfly math. We counted the number of wings, antennae's, body parts and legs.
The camping centre continues to be a popular centre. The students love to pack the picnic basket and have picnics on the floor at the pretend campfire. The light table, marble works, Lincoln Logs, puzzles, paint and arts and crafts are other centres that the students enjoy visiting and exploring how to build structures and design their art work.
This week we went outside and ran to the soccer posts and ball diamond then we played at the park. We played Ship to Shore as well as a few racing games and Doggie Doggie Where's Your Bone?
