Kindergarten EMJ

Dear Kindergarten Families, Thank you so much to everyone who attended our open house on Thursday September 22. It was wonderful to see you interact with your children in our kindergarten class. This week in kindergarten we played at a variety of centres.   Our Tim Horton's Restaurant centre  opened up at the house centre this week. .                 We also began working at work stations this week.  The students rotated through five different stations. Station 1 Cutting - I can cut using a variety of scissors Station 2 Drawing - I can draw a picture to represent the letter of the week.  The letter this week was  'Aa'. Station 3 Printing - I can print my name with a capital letter followed by lowercase letters.  I can print the letter of the week.  T he letter this week was  'Aa'. Station 4  Fine Motor - I can pick up objects using tweezers Station 5  Math - I can explore with colours to make patterns. We met our grade six buddies and ran in the Terry Fox Run on Tue

 September 12 - 16.  Hello Kindergarten Families, This week in kindergarten we read the stories Brown Bear Brown Bear and made a class book, We read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and made our own coconut trees, We read It's Okay to make Mistakes  and shared how we learn from our mistakes, and we read Red is Best and discussed why the girl in the story loved red.   Red Day  Thank you for returning the questionnaires if you haven't returned them anytime next week is perfect.    We had pictures taken on Thursday.  The students did a fantastic job of smiling   and waiting patiently for their turn.  Dear Parents, This week we worked on routines in our classroom.  We read stories,  The Kissing Hand, Have you Filled your Bucket Today?, Only One Me, and I Like Me.   We coloured pictures, talked about how we can be bucket fillers in our classroom. ( this is a way to show kindness and caring.)  We drew a picture on our bucket to show one way we can be kind.  We used glue and sand to make our names.  We went to the gym and learned how to follow the leader, play games red light green light, What Time is it Mr. Wolf? and Duck Duck Goose.   Ms. Dafoe came to our classroom and we learned new songs to sing.  She comes to our classroom on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Upcoming dates: Sept. 15th Picture day - individual pictures only  Sept. 16th - red day, you can bring something red in your snack ( example: apple, red jello, raspberries, strawberries, etc.). You can also wear red this day, red shirt, red pants, red hat.   Sept. 19th Terry Fox Run Day  Sept. 21st Yellow Day you can bring something
